As a pastor, I'm so very tired of fighting with people who want to maintain abusive systems - especially abusive church systems. I don't understand how people can claim Good News that sets people free and then turn around and fight tooth and nail to maintain a system that holds people in bondage. At any rate, the filter on my mouth about such things was torn off when I went into ministry. People have left the church I serve because I'm willing to talk about crap like this and they don't like it. So be it. I don't like abuse. I pray for all who are dealing with this same stuff that they know they are not alone and they need to keep pushing. Either the church will change and drop the abuse, or it will die out and something else will take its place. Either works for me as long as the abuse stops because abusive systems are contrary to the Good News.
