Believe me when I say I understand what you are saying. There has been significant decline in membership and the number of churches here in the US as well - maybe a little bit behind what's happening in Europe. And while church in North America and Europe is in decline, the church is growing exponentially in the southern hemisphere. America and Europe are becoming more of a missionary field. And I don't think that's a bad thing. I have openly wondered if what is happening to the institutional church in America and Europe is a type of holy pruning that is taking place. In gardening, you prune plants back, sometimes to the point that they look like they are dead. But when you return, sometimes a year or more later, the plant if more alive than it was before. I wonder what a pruned church looks like and what kind of blooming and life it has after the pruning.
