Check out "The Rapture Exposed" by Barbara Rossing. It's an excellent book on the subject. Rossing is an ELCA professor in Chicago. The book it about 15 years old by now, but just as relevant. The first line of the book starts by saying that the Rapture is a fraud. And then she goes from there, showing the dangerous implications of rapture theology.
