Does it reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?
Recently I read “Trouble I’ve Seen,” by Drew Hart. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it. It fed my soul. It is about race and the Kingdom of God and what it means to follow Jesus. And that short description doesn’t do it justice.
One of the questions that he raises in his book is this — “Does the law reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?” (pg. 149).
I’d like to expand that question, because I think it relates to what is happening in DC today.
I would alter the question to read — Does your action today reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?
To members of the US Senate and US House of Representatives — does your action today reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ, or some other inbreaking kingdom?
To constituents, citizens, residents, and others in this land — does your action and reaction today to the events taking place in the US Capitol reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?
To Christians in this land — does your action and reaction, your words, your postings, you interaction with those you deem as your enemy reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?
To pastors in this land — does your action and reaction, and especially the words you offer, and the prayers you say this day reflect the inbreaking kingdom of Christ?
To those gathered outside of the Capitol to protest the actions going on inside the Capitol building — does your…
