Great article. I would only argue with one line in the last paragraph - "This ideology arose from a fear of change and has been fighting against progress ever since." I would say that it is not a fear of change, but rather fundamentalists fear not being in control of the change. They will gladly change if they are in control of something. Fundamentalism at its core is about feeling in control and knowing. I have started to call it an idolatry because it places the person at the center of all things, rather than God.
