Great selection. I would add one more - "The Righteous Mind" by Jonathan Haidt. It doesn't look at the world on a macro level like the other books you mentioned, but it does dive into how individuals see the world and interact with it. One of the key features, that I think ties in, especially with the second book recommendation that you have, is the idea of the moral matrices that people have - what they value and why. There is a difference between what those who are more liberal and those that are more conservative value and they relate to the other concepts you have laid out.
