I don't know about uneducated as much as not educated in the same way as people alive today. They certainly had far less information than we have. But I imagine that people 1000 years from now will look at us as uneducated as well.

Were they superstitious? Sure. I feel pretty confident that superstition still exists today.

And you know, truth comes in a variety of ways. There is still wisdom, hope, love, and more in Scripture. As well as some really terrible things too.

As for whether they were guided by God or not, but we'll just disagree on that. I don't have a way to prove it, if that's what you need. But again, faith is something more than proof. At the same time, I also don't buy into the notion that God dictated the Scriptures either. And I don't believe in a literal interpretation either.
