I spent a year of seminary studies in Finland. While there I learned some Finnish. What I learned was that in Finnish, there are no pronouns for anything because the language doesn't have masculine and feminine aspects, unlike many languages. So God isn't a him in Finnish because it's just not possible in the language. God is God.

Most of the arguments over God's gender come from people who forget that the Bible wasn't written in English.
