I think meaning goes beyond something provable. But that’s my opinion. I think part of this has to do with definition. I don’t equate happiness with joy. Joy has much more meaning than happiness and for me is more of a state of being that can be sustained. Happiness is more of a fleeting emotion that comes and goes. I hear what you are saying about allowing others to pursue happiness. That’s fine. I have no issue with that. I just don’t like articles that make definitive statements that tell me that happiness is the meaning of life as if there can’t be other things. MLK, Jr. didn’t make happiness his life’s purpose, and look at the impact he had. He improved many people’s lives.
