James, thanks for the article. I'd like to recommend the book "The Evangelicals: The Struggle to Shape America" by Frances Fitzgerald. I'm about half way through it. It tells the story of the history of evangelicalism in America with it's bent towards fundamentalism. It's a fascinating read and it's giving me quite an insight into what the evangelical movement is currently. As a mainline pastor, it's good to have a sense of knowing what I'm dealing with in other parts of Christianity.
