Please don’t throw the whole church out the window as if it were uniform. It is not. I’ve gone from very conservative theologically, to something else. The only way that Christianity makes sense is when it is ever expansive — actually living out what Jesus called on the Church to do and to be. Institutions exist to protect the status quo. But within them there are movements that expand outward. There are some within the church, within the institution itself, that live in the more expansive vision — must to the chagrin of others within the church. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
