Prayer for April 28, 2022

Prayer for April 28, 2022: Please pray with me. Holy one, we need encouragement. The world seems to be crazy. No wait, it is crazy. And that’s not counting the people who claim to be your followers who do and say the exact opposite of what you call on us to say and act. That takes crazy to a whole new level. We often feel surrounded by people who are insisting on having enemies to the point that they would rather everyone be miserable rather than an enemy have anything decent happen to them, or find some common humanity with enemies. Why? I’m done with that and I have little patience for that kind of destruction. If I’m their enemy, then so be it. I feel really sad for these people. Give encouragement for those who are trying to follow you Lord. They need it. They need to know they are not alone. Drown out the craziness with compassion and love. Drown out the idolatry of being right with faithfulness. Amen.

Call to action: Pay a compliment to an enemy. Not an underhanded compliment, but an actual compliment. It will force you to see the humanity in your enemy and find something good about them.
