Prayer for April 30, 2021

Prayer for April 30, 2021: Please pray with me. God of grace, we need you. We like to fool ourselves into thinking that we are in control. But what’s so great about being in control anyway? When you are in control, you have all the responsibility. And when you fail, man it sucks. We aren’t in control, so let’s stop trying to fool ourselves and you Lord. Instead, we don’t know what we are doing. No one really does. Sure, we know bits and pieces of some things. We may have even studied a subject, but really all we are doing is learning from other people’s mistakes. We are called to be disciples — which means followers of you. We are called to be followers because we don’t know. We follow in order to learn. And this is a life-long process. Help us to let go of the idea that we know and are in control. It isn’t helping anyone. Amen.
