Prayer for December 8, 2020: Please pray with me. God whose image we bear, what an awesome privilege that is. We are your creation. We are broken. And yet, you bless us as your image bearers. We don’t live up to that very well though. Often we have distorted vision where we choose not to see your image in others. It’s easier to hate and scapegoat when we choose not to see your image in others. Forgive us. Wipe our eyes and give us proper sight. Yes, seeing the image of God in our enemy is not pleasant. But how else are we to live into the faith you give us if we willingly choose not to see you in others, not to honor the faith you bless us with? Soften our hearts to receive you through others. Amen.
