Prayer for February 16, 2022

Prayer for February 16, 2022: Please pray with me. God of neighbors, God of enemies, you call us to love both. That’s not easy. In order to love our enemies, we have to see them as neighbors. We have to see them as equals. We have to see the humanity in them. We have to want what is best for them, as we would want for our neighbors. In other words, they are no longer enemies. This doesn’t mean we allow ourselves to be a doormat or abused. Love isn’t weak or about being a push over. Love comes from a place of strength and confidence. And it wants what is best for all. Love is honest and open. Love doesn’t put up with abuse or manipulation. Love is more than a feeling. Love is the way of God. Give us what we need to love like this. Amen.

Call to action: Name one enemy. What is the most loving thing you can do to this person? Remember, love isn’t being a push over or abused.
