Prayer for February 2, 2022: Please pray with me. God of justice, it’s been said that the arc of the moral universe is long, but is bent towards justice. But this doesn’t mean that we play no role in it. It also doesn’t mean that justice comes easily or naturally. Human systems are bent towards injustice. History shows this far too many times. It’s as if we find some kind of sick comfort in unjust systems that abuse and harm people. But it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s what your message is always about — that there is another way, a better way. It’s right there in front of us. Yet we dismiss your way, continuing to try our own — a way that has never worked, no matter how hard we have tried or who has tried. But you are persistent. Thank you.

Call to Action: Give us a heart for justice. And give us the courage to act justly, to restore justice, to move society towards justice. Justice isn’t a partisan thing, it’s God’s.
