Prayer for February 3, 2021

Prayer for February 3, 2021: Please pray with me. God of unity, God of trust, oh how mistaken we are. We make some bad assumptions and suffer the consequences of those assumptions. And too often we don’t even realize we are making bad assumptions. We assume everyone agrees what unity and trust are. We assume that everyone thinks they are things we should move towards. We assume that everyone has good intentions in moving towards unity and trust. We assume that we are righteous in our pursuit of these things too. That we are the center and that anything and everyone else who differs on unity and trust is out of whack. Clear our eyes of these assumptions. Help us to let go of them because these assumptions are not helpful. They do more harm than good. Help us to live into unity and trust — in the ways that you see them Lord. Amen.
