Prayer for January 14, 2022: Please pray with me. God of proclamation, there are many gospel narratives that inhabit the world. Gospels that sell us salvation in anything but you — in political parties, ideologies, and politicians. Gospels that tell us that only winning matters. Gospels that tell us that might makes right, and that the strong survive. Gospels that lie to us that the ends justify the means. Gospels that try to convince us of the power of money, might, and violence. Gospels that are really nothing more than elaborate and simple forms of idolatry. Release us from the grip that they false…
