Prayer for January 5, 2022

Prayer for January 5, 2022: Please pray with me. God who hears our prayers, thank you. You listen to us. You listen when we plead for your safety. You listen when we demand from you. You listen when we are angry with you. You listen when we doubt you. You listen when we are formal and when we are informal in our prayers. You listen when we don’t have a clue of what to pray. You listen when we pray individually, in small groups, and in large gatherings. You listen when we lay claim to you as well as when our enemies do. You are a God who listens to it all. Give us hearts open enough to talk with you, and to listen as you listen. It is in listening that we are changed. It is in listening that we can actually hear you and what you call on us to do and be. Let us be silent when we would rather speak. Let us speak up when we would rather be silent. Let us listen because you speak to us in amazing ways and through a variety of means and people. It is in listening that we notice you clearer and hear you. And it is in listening that we are transformed. Amen.
