Prayer for May 11, 2020: Please pray with me. God of Sabbath, give us rest. Turn us away from the shouting nonsense that our world is filled with. Turn us away from the anger and fear that the world insists on proclaiming. Turn us away from the constant battle to be right at all costs. Turn us away from the narcissism that ravages and destroys so many. Turn us away from all of this and instead towards you. As St. Augustine once said — our hearts are restless until they rest in you. We are tired Lord. We are restless. We’re tired of fighting these same fights. Over and over. We’re tired of not learning anything…
