Prayer for October 19, 2021

Prayer for October 19, 2021: Please pray with me. God of change, blow through us. A characteristic of something that is alive is that it changes, adapts, and transforms. This is certainly true of faith. Faith is alive and causes change, adaptions, and transformation in us. But also in our churches because they are living institutions as well. Another characteristic of this is that all living things go through life, death, and resurrection. Sometimes literally, and other times we have an opportunity to experience this in our daily lives. And how beautiful it is. And sometimes scary too. Open us to these changes so that faith might live through us. Amen.

Call to Action — What change do you fear? Why? What are you afraid of losing? Can you see God in the change? Is your fear based on the idea that you are not in control of the change? Because most often we aren’t. But control is not what we are called to. We are called to change though — it is a sign of life. Embrace life today. Let go of control. Be transformed.
