Sounds more like it was colonialism, rather than Christianity. Come somewhere that is not theirs, take over the space, impose their beliefs on others in the name of religious freedom (but what they really want is the freedom to impose their belief on others, not actual freedom of religion where all people can practice what they believe), all with the assumption that they are the norm.

I hope that someday those who claim to be Christians will actually act Christian, instead of bullies and jerks.
