Thanks for reading the post and for sharing your thoughts. In some ways, we are all wrong. That's the beauty of the third way - it rejects the all/nothing construct of American thought process.

I spent a year in Finland about 10 years ago. Moving away from American culture was one of the best things I ever did. It opened my eyes to see how disturbing we Americans make everything. We turn everything into an only 2 option choice. But there are other options. And usually better options than just two options. The middle between the -isms and the giving up is full of a range of options. It just depends on how creative and flexible we are. For me, the third option is hope. Hope isn't optimism. It's based on seeing the reality for what it is and moving towards something better anyway.
