When I'm confronted with sayings like this, I like to poke the bear and say something like this in response: So what happened between the time that God rejected the Jews and when the US came into existence? Could you give me the dates on that? Also, was it 1776 when God chose the US, or when the current rendition of the Constition came along well over a decade later? Has God been upset with the amendments since it changed the original intent of the document? Also, what happens when the US no longer exists, what's God going to do then? You know that it won't always be around right? Something like 90% of the nations of the world that exist today didn't 100 years ago. Nations come and go. And empires, as strong as they might be in human standards all fall and die away, thanks be to God.
