You feed people what they want to hear because you need to have advertisers who will give you money. The advertisers need a guarantee of eyeballs watching. There are plenty of churches that do the same thing - tell people what they want to hear, rather than the truth. You can pack the pews if you tell them how God hates the same people they hate and how "those people" need to change. Tell the truth, and you pay the price.
